Summer EBT Information

SUN Bucks, Michigan’s Summer EBT program, helps families buy groceries for their children when school is out by offering a $120 grocery benefit for each eligible child. Eligible families receive additional funds to use on food throughout the summer, making it easier to keep kids nourished and ready for the year ahead. It’s a simple way to extend the support students receive during the school year into the summer months. Apply by Tuesday April 15th, 2025 to be eligible for the first issuance of benefits in May. Families can continue to apply through Sunday, August 31st, 2025.

  • Some families will get Summer EBT benefits automatically, but some families will need to apply.  Families must meet the income and program requirements to be eligible.
  • Once your family is enrolled, SUN Bucks will be automatically added to your SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) account or you will be issued a separate EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card.
  • The Education Benefit Form (EBF) will not count towards this benefit; you will need to enroll separately for SUN Bucks.
  • Children who receive Michigan Summer EBT can still participate in other summer meal programs.
  • For more information and to apply online, visit the Michigan.gov Summer EBT webpage.
