Our Curriculum
Our programs utilize the research-based High Scope Preschool Curriculum with a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) approach. Daily hands-on experiences provide a foundation to prepare children for the world by applying methods that promote independence, curiosity, decision making, cooperation, persistence, creativity and problem solving. The HighScope curriculum is aligned with the Michigan Standards of Quality for Pre-Kindergarten. It utilizes key developmental indicators to support teaching and learning in the early childhood classroom. The key developmental indicators address all domains of child development: approaches to learning; social and emotional development; physical development and health; language, literacy and communication; mathematics; creative arts; science and technology; and social studies. The curriculum focuses on adult-child interaction, learning environment, daily routine, assessment, and active learning.
Our programs also utilize the COR Advantage Assessment. COR Advantage is a research validated birth-to-Kindergarten child assessment tool that assists teachers in supporting children at every developmental level - including children who are English Language Learners and those with special needs.
