Lynn Lasley and Norma Marks-Carbajal
Hi, I’m Miss Lynn from room 2. I teach all day Head Start. I have had the pleasure of teaching in Farmington Early Childhood for many years in various roles. I love the staff that I work with and the families I get to meet. As teachers we are always learning new ways of teaching our children and drawing out their ideas. My favorite part of our day is work time. During this hour, I get to work and play with children, asking questions, finding out their ideas and thinking about how I can scaffold their intentions to the next level. The biggest challenge facing many of our children is their social emotional development. My goal is to have every child feel safe and supported while they are in our room. We work on building friendships, empathy, cooperative play and solving conflicts. Stop by our room for a visit anytime.
My name is Norma Carbajal-Marks. I have been working with FPS for the last nine years. I Worked as a lunch teacher for seven years and I've been a bus aide for the last five. In August of 2019, I started taking classes to get my CDA credential. I took the test in September 2019 and started working at FCS as an assistant teacher in a Head Start classroom. I am really happy to be part of the amazing staff at the Farmington Early Childhood Center. I moved to the United States from Argentina in 1999. My first language is Spanish. I am married and have three children and I am a proud grandmother. When I am not at school, I enjoy gardening, going for walks with my grandson, spending time with my family and attending my son's soccer games.
