Farmington African American Parent Network is partnering with the Farmington School District to tackle the achievement gap that exists in our school system. We will work with all organizations to help develop our students and encourage our parents to get involved.

Past Events
Many people have stated that they were unaware of FAAPN and the many events. Here is a synopsis of our events from the past three years.
Over the last three years, FAAPN has held it’s SUPER SATUDAYS TUTORING PROGRAM. Each semester, teachers, students, and parents work together to provide support to our students.
Year 2016 / 2017 – Major Events
Annual Farmington District College Fair
For the second year in a row, FAAPN sponsored a district wide college fair bringing in over 30 colleges and HBCUs for our students to discuss college opportunities. Some students received on-the-spot admissions and scholarship offers.Essay Writing Course and Mentoring Workshop
FAAPN sponsored a 5 week program to teach participants to write effective essays for school and college applications.ACT SAT Bootcamp – Fall Session / Spring Session
FAAPN sponsored a 4 weekend ACT / SAT training course facilitated by ExamExperts to help high school student build their test taking skills. Students paid a drastically reduced fee for the course.State of the African American Child in the FPS System
FAAPN facilitated a district wide discussion on status of the FPS achievement gap with the Superintendent and faculty members.Year 2015 / 2016 – Major Events
“Let’s Get It Started” – Back to School Open House
Provided vital information on our schools, tutoring options, and available services to new families entering the school district. Community Leaders attended including the Mayor, Police Chief, City Council Members, School Board Members, and StaffFirst Annual Farmington District College Fair

Your Child is worth it!
FAAPN sponsored a district wide event to provide parents with resources at every school level. Resource vendors were available to discuss best practices and offer solutions.Not Just Surviving but Thriving
FAAPN sponsored a district wide event focusing on the concerns of parents with middle aged students as they move into adolescence.
