Underground Storage Tank Removal Project
In addition to the environmental initiatives below, Facilities Management and Transportation's crowning achievement for 2022 was the removal of four aging underground gasoline and diesel tanks that potentially threatened our ecosystem. In partnership with Arch Environmental and TSP Environmental Services, two 10,000 gallon diesel tanks (at our transportation depot), in addition to one, 10,000 gallon gasoline tank and one, 6,000 gallon diesel tank (at Facilities Management) were removed and replaced with above-ground tanks. Transportation's new 20,000 gallon, above-ground diesel tank is a double-walled unit that is impervious to weather or tampering (being concrete-lined). The new, above-ground diesel and gasoline tanks at Facilities Management are both 500 gallons in size.
