Virtual Board Meetings
Meetings of the Board of Education have been held virtually since March 24, 2020 in accordance with Executive Order No.2020-154 (COVID-19) issued by Governor Whitmer on July 17, 2020. As a result of the Supreme Court ruling on October 2, 2020, Executive Order 2020-154 is no longer in effect; however, SB 1108 was signed into effect by the Governor on October 16, 2020, which is similar in many respects to EO 2020-154.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education will be held on January 19, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Participants will be using the WebEx platform. The public may join the special meeting via this link.
Community members interested in participating through public comment are asked to complete the Public Comment Request Form by 4:00 pm that evening. Your comments will be shared with the public and full Board during the meeting under the Public Comment portion of the agenda. This will be an opportunity to share comments regarding agenda items, non-agenda items, and the the reconfirmation of the extended COVID-19 learning plan. All requests for public comments received by 4:00 pm will have the opportunity to speak during the virtual meeting or choose to have their comments read by a Board member. Anyone who wishes to express their public comment live during the meeting must complete the Public Comment Request Form.
Board meetings are cablecast LIVE on TV-10 and live streamed on the District's website.
The public may contact Board members to provide input or ask questions about business that will come before the Board via contact information found here.
Anyone needing special accommodations to participate at a Board meeting should call Diane Bauman, Director for School and Community Relations, at 248-426-5000 at least a week in advance and arrangements will be made.
