The City of Farmington Hills has a Housing Rehabilitation Program that uses Federal dollars through the Community Development Block Grant Program.
Allows eligible homeowners funds to upgrade and improve existing homes in the City.
Examples of home repairs include: electrical, heating or plumbing, siding, hot water tanks, roofs/gutters, sewer/water hook up, furnaces, replacement windows, weather-stripping/insulation.

They will help with 1st month’s rent or security deposit up to $500.00.OLHSA has many housing dollars available to help people living with HIV/AIDS who currently live in Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, St. Clair or Livingston Counties or who want to move into one of the above counties. Clients can receive up to $2,000 in back rent or utility payment assistance or in first month rent and security deposit.

Housing Resource Center (HRC)- provides information, education, and technical assistance about various affordable housing options. The Housing Resource Center also provides continually updated databases that offer information about available affordable housing, potential roommates, mortgage products, and resources about accessing community supports. Includes information on HUD Housing Choice Vouchers (Section8).
Asset Management Services-CHN- provides information and referral and offers long term management of housing and other resources for people with disabilities. CHN also offers services such as grant writing and project development consultation.
Permanent Supported Housing Homeless Leasing Assistance Programs - Administers grants through HUD, Supported Housing Program. The Leasing Assistance Programs provide rental assistance and program specific supportive services to persons and/or families having severe and persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance abuse problems, and who are currently homeless.
Home Buying Program - Offers a homeownership program to qualified buyers. Grant funds are utilized to help make the home purchase more affordable. Interested applicants must be first time homebuyers, reside in Oakland County, have an acceptable credit history and a steady source of income that does not exceed the program limits, and have a household member with a disability.
