Q:  What is MISTAR ParentPortal?
MISTAR ParentPortal is an informational resource made available to every family at no cost. This resource provides real-time information about your child's grades and attendance, class schedule, immunization records, and includes the balance on his/her nutrition services account. MISTAR ParentPortal provides a safe, secure and easy access to your child's school record.

Q:  What will be different in MISTAR ParentPortal than Family Access?
If you have more than one child enrolled in school, their lunch accounts will now be separate.  Last year, funds were put on one account that was shared by all the children in one household.  With Parent Connect, each student will have his/her own lunch account. Any funds left at the end of the year last year, have been transferred to the youngest child’s account.

Parents can now use the transportation tab to determine what time their child should wait for the bus as well as the location of the bus stop.  If your child is in high school, transcripts and test data are also available in Parent Connect.  The following pages summarize what is available.

Last of all, teachers will be able to email groups of parents.  For example, if you have entered your email address into the demographic section, any email your child’s teacher sends to the entire class will also come to you. 

Q:  Will my PIN and password be different for MiStar ParentPortal than it was for Zangle ParentConnect?

No, your PIN will remain the same each year. This is a personal identification number and cannot be changed. Your password will remain the same unless and until you change in Parent Portal by clicking on My Account.

Q:  How do I sign up for MISTAR ParentPortal?
When enrolling for the first time in Farmington Public Schools and providing a valid email address, an email will be sent the following business day with your pin and password. If you do not receive your login information within 72 hours, please contact your student's school.

Q:  Who do I contact for additional information or issues with MISTAR ParentPortal?
Please contact your child’s school.

Q:  What do I do if I forget my Personal Identification Number (PIN)?
In the login page, go to the “forgot my login” link.  Click here and your password will be sent to the email address on file.  If you do not have an email address on file, you will need to contact your child’s school.

Q:  How do I change my password?
To change your password in MISTAR ParentPortal, you need to login to MISTAR ParentPortal . Once you are at the main display for MISTAR ParentPortal, then go to Account and you will see the prompt to change or edit your password. 

Q:  What if I forget my password?

Q:  Will I be able to see my child’s assignments or grades on-line?
For students in 5th – 12th grade, teachers can elect to use MISTAR ParentPortal to convey a student’s progress to parents.  After logging in, select a student and on the left hand side is a tab called “Assignments”.  Parents can also view progress reports and report cards using the “Marks” tab.

Q:  Why can't I see my elementary child's assignments on-line?
We are in the process of developing this communication tool for parents. 

Q:  Can I make a deposit to my child's lunch account on line with a check or credit card?
Yes, after logging in, select a student then go to the cafeteria tab on the left and follow the instructions.  You can add funds to any of your children’s lunch accounts, as well as see the balances within this screen

Q:  How can students have access to this information?
In September, Student Connect will be introduced.  This is similar to MISTAR ParentPortal, but students will be able to see the same information that parents have access to in MISTAR ParentPortal.  A student will only be able to view his/her information, not the information of a sibling.
