The Bilingual Department is using an instructional model that we developed to teach and improve or/and enhance the students' language acquisition, advance academic knowledge, and create a suitable school environment for social needs of student learning English as a second language. The Bilingual Department is comprised of 3 types of services.

.: NEWCOMERS CENTER: Teaching English to newcomers includes all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students learn no just the vocabulary and grammar of the content but also learn important English Language concepts and skills using academic language. Students develop academic language skills in through cognitively demanding activities in which comprehension is assisted by various ESL books and technology tool.

.: INCLUSION:  The Bilingual Department has bilingual staff that works directly with students in the classroom. This way, bilingual staff have a better understanding of what, why and how content material is being taught and studied and can understand instruction that is directly connected to classroom goals. We have been increasing inclusion by providing an extra support for bilingual students, making a more meaningful and less anxious classroom setting for bilingual students. Therefore, students increase personal motivation as they integrate in the school setting.

.: TUTORING: In addition to the classroom, students are able to receive help with their projects and assignments in tutoring sessions. These sessions are designed to assist students to successfully complete and understand the concepts being taught in all their classes in addition to building a sense of confidence in being self-sufficient in the English world.
